AEZO ANNUAL MEETING

Africa Economic Zones Organization (AEZO) and the African Union Commission (AUC) – Department of Economic Development, Trade, Tourism, Industry and Minerals – are joining efforts to organize the African Special Economic Zones Annual Meeting 2024 scheduled to take place from 27th to 29th November 2024 at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi, Kenya, under the theme:
“Building Resilient, Inclusive & Sustainable Economies: The Role of African SEZs in Attracting Impactful Investments & Redefining Competitiveness.”

This year’s edition will be hosted by Kenya Special Economic Zones Authority (SEZA) and the Ministry of Trade, Investments and Industry and will gather more than 400 participants to follow the deliberations and interact with eminent experts and C-level representatives from Special Economic Zones and Investment Promotion Agencies.

The African Union Commission (AUC)’s Department of Economic Development, Trade, Tourism, Industry and Minerals and Africa Economic Zones Organization (AEZO) are joining efforts to organize the African Special Economic Zones Annual Meeting 2023 scheduled to take place on November 23 – 24, 2023 in Tangier, Morocco, under the theme:
« Fostering Sustainable Industrialization and Economic Diversification: A Roadmap for African Special Economic Zones ».

This year’s edition will be hosted by Tanger Med Group and will gather more than 400 participants to follow the deliberations and interact with eminent experts and C-level representatives from Economic Zones and Investment Promotion Agencies.

The AEZO 7th Annual Meeting will be hosted by the Nigeria Exports Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA), Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA), Nigerian Economic Zones Association (NEZA), in partnership with the prominent partners such as AUC, UNCTAD, UNIDO, AfDB.

This year’s edition will be held in Abuja – Nigeria, under the theme “African Special Economic Zones: Engine for Resilience and Accelerator for Sustainable Industrial Value Chain Development”, from November 30th to December 2nd, 2022.

The event coincides with the 30th anniversary of Special Economic Zones Scheme in Nigeria and will gather prominent government officials, ministers, and heads of international organizations. This event will offer the opportunity to a thousand participants to follow the deliberations and interact with eminent experts and C-level representatives from Economic zones and Investment promotion agencies.

The AEZO 6th Annual Meeting will be hosted by the AfCFTA Secretariat and Ghana Free Zones Authority (GFZA), on November 25th, 2021 under the theme: “Connecting African Special Economic Zones to Global Value Chains at the era of the African Free Trade Area (AfCFTA)”.

The AEZO 5th Annual Meeting will take place on December 3rd, 2020 in conjunction with AfCFTA Business Forum under the theme: “The Role of Economic Zones in supporting the implementation of the AfCFTA and Regional Integration“.

The 4th Annual Meeting co-organized with The African Union Commission (AUC), the event took place in conjunction with Africa Industrialization Week on November 18th – 20th 2019, at the Africa Union Headquarters, Addis Ababa Ethiopia.

The 3rd Annual Meeting has successfully concluded its work on Saturday 21 nd September 2018, in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire. This meeting gathered 100 C-Level Participants, 18 International Experts, and 35 Economic Zones to discuss “Economic Zones contribution to sustainable Economic Development in Africa”.
